The innovative journey starts from an acoustic window booth, set up by ANewR Consulting Limited, at CIC-Zero Carbon Park in October 2020. The acoustic window is a window type yielding a magical solution for a dilemma situation. In the past – and even now, it is still a common issue; an open window drawing the airflow also brings the house with noise. Living in a noisy environment makes the tenants annoyed. Noise causes various problems – sleep disturbances, mental irritability, and loss of concentration. To minimise the noise effect, the acoustic specialists have designed an acoustic window to resolve the enjoy-and-endure environmental  dilemma. 

The great secret of acoustic innovation has never been uncovered before. Some of the homeowners have no idea about an acoustic window.  Strange as the acoustic window may seem, professionals speak highly of the acoustic window concept, and now the acoustic window has been installed at one of the public housing in Hong Kong – Shek Mun Estate. 

The acoustic window booth introduces the general public to what an acoustic window is, how cool the design is, and why we need the acoustic window in our home. Mr. James Choi, the director of ANewR Consulting Limited, who is also the acoustic specialist, has turned the acoustic showcase with a human-centered, creative add-on. The innovative and design thinking process had begun with a question – how might we remodel the demonstration to entice stakeholders to tour the booth? The next question was how to build a booth drawing the general public to glance moreover retain them at the booth. “The target audience is the general public. We have wanted them to have fun while being informed,” James explained.

The presentation is full of kinetic and fun. A single hand wave triggers the vivid animation, the sound narration, the mechanical wind blow, and the automated acoustic window. The audience who are already VR (virtual reality) gamers will be proficient in mastering the moving around in the animation scene. ANewR wants to give the audience a lively, interactive experience when the audience is pursuing acoustic knowledge.
